Between the music stage and the market, UAFest sets aside a corner for something hands-on: the Art Workshops, where guests of any age can sit down and actually make something Ukrainian, not just look at it.
Past years have featured favourites like petrykivka painting, the bright folk-art style built from a single brushstroke technique, and motanka doll-making, a traditional craft passed down through generations of Ukrainian families. Straw weaving has made appearances too — a quieter, meditative craft that pairs well with a busy festival day.
The exact 2026 workshop lineup is still coming together. Whatever makes the final schedule, the idea stays the same: give people fifteen minutes to make something with their hands, and let it carry a bit of Ukrainian tradition home with them.
