Privacy Policy
A plain-language explanation of what personal information this website collects, why, and what you can do about it.

A volunteer-run community festival
UAFest is organized by the Ukrainian Community of Lanark County, a volunteer-run community group, together with organizing partners LifeCapital Global, MarketingMIX and Alice Boutique. There is no paid staff and no marketing department — the people reading your messages are festival volunteers.
If you have any question about your personal information, email info@uafest.ca or call +1 (613) 621-1261. We handle personal information in line with Canada's federal privacy law (PIPEDA).
Only what you type into our forms
This website has no user accounts, no login, and takes no payments. The only personal information we collect is what you choose to send us through our forms — contact, vendor, performer, sponsor, volunteer, newsletter, project interest, and bug report. Depending on the form, that means:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number, if the form asks for it
- The details of your application or message — for example, what you'd like to sell, perform, sponsor, or help with
If you don't fill in a form, we don't collect personal information about you through this site.
To answer you, and to send updates you asked for
We use the information you send us for two things:
- Responding to you — reviewing vendor, performer, sponsor, and volunteer applications, and replying to questions or bug reports.
- Festival updates— if you subscribed to the newsletter, we send occasional festival news to that address. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, consistent with Canada's anti-spam law (CASL).
We don't sell your information, and we don't share it with anyone for their own marketing.
The services that help run this website
A few third-party services process data on our behalf so this site can work. They act on our instructions:
- Vercel — hosts this website, so form submissions and page requests pass through its servers.
- MailMozg — an email service operated by our own team that delivers form-submission notifications to festival organizers (with Resend as a backup delivery provider).
- Google Analytics— when enabled, uses cookies to give us anonymous-to-us measurements of how the site is used (which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from). It is a measurement tool; we don't use it to identify you.
If we add advertising measurement tools in the future (such as a Meta Pixel), they will only run with your consent, and we will update this policy first.
How long we keep your information
We keep form submissions for as long as they are relevant to organizing the festival — for example, a vendor application is kept while we plan the market for the season it applies to. When information is no longer needed, we delete it. You can also ask us to delete your information at any time (see below).
Access, correction, deletion, unsubscribe
- Unsubscribe— every newsletter email includes an unsubscribe link. One click and you're out.
- Access, correct, or delete — email info@uafest.ca and ask what information we hold about you, ask us to fix it, or ask us to delete it. We'll do it as quickly as our volunteer schedule allows, and we'll confirm when it's done.
This site is not directed at children
The festival welcomes families, but this website and its forms are intended for adults — vendors, performers, sponsors, volunteers, and other grown-up festival business. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children through this site. If you believe a child has submitted a form, contact us and we'll delete it.
Photos and video at a public event
UAFest is a public event held at Riverside Park in Carleton Place, and photography and video happen there — by our volunteers, by press, and by other guests. Photos taken by the festival may appear on this website or on our social channels. If you or your child appear in a festival photo and you'd like it taken down, email info@uafest.ca with a link to the photo and we'll remove it.
Changes to this policy
If how we handle personal information changes — for example, if we add a new tool or a new form — we'll update this page and change the “Last updated” date at the top. Significant changes will be noted plainly here rather than buried.
Questions about any of this? Write to info@uafest.ca — a real volunteer will answer. You can also read our Terms of Use.
