Woof Walk Perth introduces itself on its own front page: "Woof Walk is a reliable and trust-worthy dog-walking, day-care and overnight service in Perth, Ontario. We cater to busy clients who want the best for their pups. Woof Walk is fully insured and experienced working with dogs of all breeds, ages and backgrounds." The business is run by Katrina, whom clients name directly in the testimonials on the site — "I trust Katrina implicitly with my two dogs, whom she has been walking for a year now."
"For over six years, Woof Walk Perth has been providing exceptional dog walking services in the Perth area," the About page says. "Our approach is highly personal in nature, focusing on private and semi-private walks (up to 3 dogs at a time). This allows more attention for each dog so that your pet can have a more pleasurable, relaxed walk, enjoying the natural beauty of the Perth area and taking in all the sights, sounds and smells." The measure they set themselves is a domestic one: "We strive to give your dog the same love and attention that we give our own fur-kids Bekka and Chloe." Alongside the walks there are mid-day backyard breaks, senior dog visits, cat and other pet visits, and boarding in their own home when clients are away.
The second half of the business is a bakery. "Welcome to The Perth Barkery, where love of dogs meets the flavours of our local community," its page begins. "At the heart of our mission is a commitment to sourcing the finest, locally produced ingredients to create preservative and gluten-free all-nature gourmet dog biscuits that truly stand out." The treats "are made in small batches, hand-cut with precision for quality and consistency," hand-packed and dehydrated to preserve freshness, and "100% chicken, corn and soy free" with no artificial flavours or preservatives. Their Instagram bio puts it shorter: "Hand crafted gluten & grain free dog biscuits! No preservatives, additives, or artificial color. Made with locally sourced ingredients in Perth, Ont."
The local sourcing is stated in numbers on their About page: "We are proud to source 90% of our ingredients locally, including premium products from trusted suppliers like Oliver's Maple Works, Perth Brewery and Goofin' with Bees. Additionally, all our flour comes from Purest." The most deliberate of those relationships is with Perth Brewery: "A cornerstone of our sustainability efforts is our partnership with Perth Brewery, where we repurpose their spent grain - a nutrient-rich byproduct that would otherwise go to landfill. This grain is naturally high in protein and serves as the foundation for some of our exclusive, all-natural dog biscuit recipes."
You can meet them across Perth. On Instagram they invite people to the Perth Farmers' Market — "Come visit us at the Perth Farmers Market from 8am–1pm" — their own notice card says Perth Barkery products are "available to buy online or in-store at the Perth General Store," and of the custom biscuits made with Perth Brewery spent grain they write, "these special treats are available now at the brewery." Orders also go through their own online shop, with pickup arranged in town, "free delivery if you live within the Perth town limits," and shipping by Canada Post.
