Wholefood Delights

WholeFood Delights is a small gluten-free bakery based at 6813 Sunset Blvd. in Greely, Ontario. Its Facebook page is headed "WholeFood Delights (Christy's Wholefood Baking)", and the site's legal notice names Christy Rushton as owner and legal representative.

The bakery tells its own beginning this way: "I have always had a passion and love of baking, about 14 years ago my second daughter was diagnosed with gluten and dairy sensitivities (as well as a few more but these were the main concerns at the time). I began a deep dive into the gluten-free lifestyle and found more and more information and studies on how the food that we eat affects our body in the short and long-term. I discovered a new way of baking that has a positive affect to our body so that I can continue to provide my family with delicious treats."

The method has not changed since: "I exclusively use wholegrain organic gluten-free flours and opt for natural sweeteners such as maple syrup and organic coconut palm sugar, being gentler on our blood sugar levels and containing essential vitamins and minerals. I also provide many dairy-free and vegan options, ensuring everyone can enjoy my treats." The Instagram bio puts the same promise in one line: "Offering gluten-free baked goods with many dairy-free and vegan options. Using whole food ingredients, organic flours, refined white sugar-free." The home page adds, "As a certified health and nutrition coach, I place great emphasis on using high-quality, organic ingredients."

The counter is a table: cookies (maple oatmeal, chocolate chip, double chocolate grain-free, PB & J thumbprint, ginger molasses, oatmeal date & chocolate chip), scones, muffins, granola, brownies and squares, waffles and bagels, pies and cakes. Beyond the bakery's own pickup and delivery, its Partners & Friends page says its goods reach Ottawa Farm Fresh weekly, go out on weekly deliveries to Natural Food Pantry stores across the city, and are carried by Gutsies, a 100% gluten-free bakery and grocery store in Orléans. Through 2026 the bakery's own posts put it at the Navan Fair, its first visit to the Maxville market, a Friday pop-up at Café Bon Vivant in Russell, the Taste of Ottawa at the Cohere Centre, the Perth Fair, and — for the first time — the butter tart festival in Stittsville.

The stated goal is plain: "My goal as a baker is to provide joy, warmth, and happiness to everyone." And there is a plan past the kitchen: "I dream of one day opening a shop with all my my baked goods as well as homemade soups, breads, sandwiches and more! I also dream of providing baking and cooking classes to kids and families sharing my love of baking and the importance of the food we eat."
