THE RUSHNYK OF UNITY · WHERE THE MONEY GOES

Why the cloth is on the road

The tour has one destination and three things it pays for. This page says what they are, in plain words.

The point of the tour

The road leads to Ottawa and a Guinness World Records attempt.

After the attempt we decide which museum in the world the cloth will live in. Let the museums compete for the right to receive it.

A goal the project's team has stated. No application, date or adjudication is confirmed.

Where the money goes

Three directions, each one funded by the same tour.

The road to Ottawa

What it pays for
Moving the cloth between cities, insurance, packing and the local costs of each stop.
Who receives it
The communities that host a stop, and the carriers who move the cloth between them.
Why it is on the list
Every leg paid for is one more city the cloth reaches on its way to the record attempt.

Children in Ukraine

What it pays for
Psychosocial support for teenagers whose childhood the war interrupted: work with psychologists, courses, camps.
Who receives it
The Kids of Ukraine charitable foundation — four centres in Lviv, Khmelnytskyi, Cherkasy and Zhytomyr.
Why it is on the list
The festival raised for this foundation in 2025, so the cloth carries a partnership that already works.

UAFest.Network

What it pays for
The shared infrastructure a festival needs on day one: a website, a CRM and the materials, handed over ready.
Who receives it
Ukrainian festivals around the world that take this infrastructure for themselves.
Why it is on the list
A festival that starts with the tools already built spends its energy on the programme and the people.

Take one leg of the road

A sponsor carries a single, finite piece of the journey. Three shapes come up most often.

  • A haul between two citiesThe cloth travels from the city that has just shown it to the one waiting next.
  • Insurance and packingThe cloth is insured for the road and packed the way the project team asks.
  • The day of a stopThe hall or the park, the sound, the printing and everything the local day costs.

Your name travels with that leg — on the page, in the press materials and at the stop itself.

Propose your own initiative

Communities register their own initiatives, and the UAFest team reviews each one. This is how a festival somewhere else becomes part of the network.

  1. You describe itYour community, your city, what you want to hold and who stands behind it.
  2. The team reviews itWe read every submission and answer each one, with the reasons behind the answer.
  3. It joins the networkAn approved initiative gets the site, the CRM and the materials the network already runs on.

Pass it on

Every stop so far started with someone sending this link to their own community.
