Run for Children of Heroes
Every step can help a child move forward. Adults · kids · families · teams.
One run. Many cities. One purpose.
On October 11, 2026, Ottawa joins the international Run for Children of Heroes — a charity initiative that brings communities together for Ukrainian children who have lost a mother, a father or both parents because of the war.
People are running in more than 20 cities across Europe, North America and beyond: Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Frankfurt, London, New York, Paris, Warsaw. And now Ottawa runs too.
More than 17,000 children are in the care of the Children of Heroes Foundation. The goal of the international campaign is to raise €40,000+ for mental health and psychological support programs for these children.

30 CAD per participant
The charitable participation fee is 30 CAD per participant, paid by Interac e-Transfer to uclc.ngo@gmail.com. Put the participant's name in the transfer message.
Money raised by the international campaign supports mental health and psychological assistance programs for Ukrainian children who have lost one or both parents because of the war.
Every participant receives a commemorative gift from the initiative: a participant medal and a set of Children of Heroes stickers.
Bring your people with you
Create a team with your family, friends, company, school, organization, sports club or community. Running together turns one registration into a larger act of support, and it is the simplest way to invite others into the Ottawa team.
Children of Heroes
The Children of Heroes Charity Fund supports Ukrainian children who have lost one or both parents because of the war. It was created for long-term support through childhood and into adult life: psychological help and socialization, education and development, medical and humanitarian assistance, and individual work with each family. More than 17,000 children are in its care today.

A separate run: the second Ottawa start of the international charity run under the chestnuts, for children with heart conditions, on Kyiv Day. The format, run or half-marathon, is being settled.
