A week with the Rushnyk in Mississauga
The cloth stays a week at the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary: a dance school, a stitching afternoon and a school at the blessing of Ternopil Park.
After the Toronto parade the Rushnyk of Unity moves to Mississauga and stays there for a week. Its home for those days is the Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary on Cawthra Road, and the community brings people to it rather than moving the cloth around the city.
On the 21st and 22nd the Barvinok Ukrainian dance school comes to see it. On the 23rd the Ukrainian Catholic Women's League of Canada meets by the cloth and stitches one more rushnyk into it — the cloth grows again, in Canada this time. On the 25th St. Sophia School brings its pupils to the blessing of Ternopil Park on Havenwood Drive.
Exact hours for each day come from the parish. If your school, choir or organisation wants a slot with the cloth while it is in Mississauga, write to us and we pass it to the people who hold it that week.
